Trekking enthusiasts have been making this epic journey to Everest Base Camp since the early 90’s following in the footsteps of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay’s – the first mountaineers to climb Mt Everest. Surrounded by enormous peaks, this trek takes you to a region rich in culture, fauna and flora and offers views of many peaks soaring over 800m into the sky. Magnificent lakes and ice sheets are also a feature of this journey passing Sherpa villages rich in heritage and traditions, such as Tengboche Monastery, Sagarmatha National Park and of course the unheralded views from Kala Patthar . Especially in spring, you will pass through the breathtaking colorful Rhododendron forests and get to see wildlife such as musk deer.
