Cloud security assessment is the term used for the continuous tracking of cloud activities to discover threats, violations of policies, and irregular behavior. Continuous monitoring guarantees that security controls are still effective as cloud environments change, whereas a CSA estimate security posture at a certain point in time. Monitoring of cloud security contributes to evaluation results while proving that the efforts for remediation are working, spotting configuration changes in the always changing cloud infrastructure, and giving trustworthy proof for audits and customer’s trust. Security assessments in the cloud without progressive monitoring lose their validity very fast.
