Places To Visit In Gangotri
Gangotri is one of the sacred pilgrimage sites of the Char Dham Yatra. Located in the Uttarkashi District at an altitude of 3,100 meters (10,200 feet) above sea level on the banks of the Bhagirathi River and surrounded by snow-capped peaks and deodar forest. Gangotri is the abode of Goddess Ganga and holds immense spiritual significance in Hinduism; it is believed that the most sacred river Ganga (known as Bhagirathi), descends to earth at this sacred place.
