Uttarkashi is a sacred town located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, at an altitude of 3,822 feet(1,165 meters) above sea level, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and dense forest. It is also often called “Kashi of the North” and is famous for its spiritual significance, serving as a gateway to Yamunotri and Gangotri (Temples of Char Dham Yatra) and trekking sites like Dodi tal, Gangotri Gaumukh Tapovan trek and Dayara Bugyal Trek, and also a home of many ancient temples, such as the Vishwanath temple in Uttarkashi, Kuteti Devi, etc.
